To advocate for children by supporting our free, public education system; to promote social justice for children; to advance legislation that enriches public education for the benefit of Florida children, families, and communities; and to provide clergy and congregations with resources for ministry to local schools.
Our vision
Since our founding in 2019, Pastors for Florida Children has been guided by a clear vision of caring for our neighborhood public schools by advocating for fully funded schools that are equitably funded. Legislators are always ready to hear from faith leaders, and it's more important than ever that people of faith share a moral voice for fair and equitable school funding. What Makes Us Different
Pastors for Florida Children is not just another education organization. We are an independent organization, not beholden to any special interest group, political party, or church office. We believe in local democracy, cooperation across lines of difference, and organizing to support public education opportunities for Florida children. We see prayer, direct service, and legislative advocacy as parts of an integral whole, not separate initiatives.
Pastors for Florida Children believe that public education is a human right and a constitutional guarantee. When this sacred trust and provision of the common good comes under attack by the forces of privatization, we respond with prayer, service, and advocacy. We work for a day when all people of faith and goodwill support free and fairly funded public schools for all of God’s children.
